The Deliverance Package

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” …The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen.” (Ex.14:13-14, 18)

The Lord delivered the Israelites from bondage with His mighty hand and still the people were not so clear about their destiny. Neither did they realize God’s promise to their ancestors. But God kept fulfilling His promise because of His faithfulness.

God Plans Everything in Detail

God in His wisdom has planned everything, to the minutest detail. His plans may look weird or illogical but that is how He proves that He alone is God and worthy of all glory.

God Prepares His people for the Battle

The earthly life is a journey for God’s people, a journey to the Promised Land, a journey to their eternal home. During the journey there are battles that we need to fight. We are incapable of winning them in our own strength. So God comes along and helps us. He prepares us for those times and makes us strong enough to stand up against the assault of the enemy. He trains us and equips us through various experiences.

He put Moses through the royal training at the Pharaoh’s palace and the shepherd’s experience in the wilderness. It took God eighty long years before He put Moses on the job.

God Protects His people with His own Hand

God puts you on a mission does not mean He will leave you on your own to fight. He stays with you all the way. He will shield you when the darts come against you and lead you to victory.

His presence with the Israelites was evident in the pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire during nights. It shaded them, gave them light, prevented the enemy from reaching them. What more can we ask?

God Fights the Battle for His People

God makes the strategy, tells you to make the moves, but does everything else so that the enemy is defeated without you shooting even a single shot. He divided the waters and commanded the people to move ahead. He made the enemy follow them into the sea bed. He made the wheels of their chariots go stuck in the sand until His people reached the other side. He then makes the water return and drown the enemy.

He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. (2Chr.20:15)

All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” (1Sam.17:47)

God Gives His People Victory but Demands the Glory

God gives us victory in our daily battles and will give us the final victory over sin and death. He fulfills His promise, always, because He is the “Faithful One”. He leads us and will lead us till we reach our eternal destination. He uses stupid-looking ways to accomplish humanly impossible things. His purposes are always achieved in His own way. And He demands the glory that belongs to Him and Him alone. He always proves that He deserves all glory, yet, how often we try to rob Him of this by taking the credit for what He does?

His deliverance package is complete-covering the past, the present and the future. And its all free!
